Coaching Services Terms and Conditions

Careers on Purpose provides a range of professional coaching services and programs designed to support clients. The following terms and conditions provide clarity about our policies regarding payments, cancellations, refunds, confidentiality and intellectual property.

Free Initial Consultation

  • Careers on Purpose provides a free initial consultation to enable prospective clients to find out about the career services and programs we provide and how they can meet your needs. This is time to determine if we are a good fit for each other and check if the proposed programs/services suit your needs and situation at the current time.
  • You are encouraged to ask any questions about the services and coaching programs and never put under pressure.
  • A coaching quote, valid for 30 days from issue date (special offers as listed) will be provided with full details of proposed services and costs. Clients are encouraged to consult partners or other parties and have a follow up session before proceeding with coaching.

Payment Terms and Conditions

  • Careers on Purpose accept various payment methods via Stripe or direct bank transfer, details will be provided in the invoice.
  • Once a client confirms commitment to a Career Discovery, Career Transition or Career Progression program, full payment, or an instalment as agreed, is required by bank transfer or credit card before the first session.
  • Full payment of any individual career service e.g. Resume Writing is required before the first session.
  • Coaching programs and training may be eligible to be considered tax deductible. Careers on Purpose is not licensed to provide tax advice. Please consult your tax agent for tax advice related to your specific individual situation.

Coaching Terms and Conditions

  • Career coaching programs are to be completed within the timeframe stated, within a maximum 6-month timeframe, unless an extension has been agreed to in writing.
  • Programs may be put on hold for up to 2 months (due to illness or external factors) with written agreement from both parties.
  • If a Career Coaching program time needs to be extended beyond original set timeframes, if a client takes more than 1 session of additional time, extra costs will be incurred on a pro-rata basis, in line with the original Career Program agreement entered into.
  • Time invested in a specific service or career coaching program cannot be transferred to use on any other career coaching program. Any new/additional career coaching services or programs are to be paid for separately.
  • Careers on Purpose will be as flexible as possible to meet client needs, program priorities may be changed, and timing of program components re-ordered to meet the needs of the client. E.g. if a client secures an interview before completing a resume.
  • Components of a Coaching program, e.g. interview coaching may be 'parked' for use at a future date, within the current financial year.

Rescheduling and Cancelling Appointments

  • Clients may cancel/reschedule sessions with 24 hours’ notice without incurring a fee, within 24 hours a 50% fee is payable (unless a client is genuinely sick). Cancellations < 4 hours before a session will incur a 100% fee unless exceptional circumstances apply.
  • If a session is cancelled/rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice more than twice, a 100% cancellation fee will be applied to all future cancellations or reschedules made less than 24 hours in advance for that client.
  • In the case of a pre-paid Program, once you have more than 2 late notice cancellations, that will deduct one session from your allocated sessions in your program for each session that is cancelled with less than 24-hours-notice.

Lateness Policy

  • Starting on time is important. Please always email/message if you are running late. If a client is late for a zoom session, Careers on Purpose reserves the right to shorten the appointment to stay on schedule for other scheduled clients.
  • If a client hasn’t arrived for the session within 15 minutes or advised via email or message, that will be a "No Show".
  • "No Shows" without notice of cancellation will be charged 100% of session, payable before next session, or deducted from a pre-paid program.

Service Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • If a program is cancelled before starting, Careers on Purpose will provide a full refund less a cancellation fee of 5%.
  • Once coaching sessions have begun and coaching materials provided, refunds will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Only the unused portion of the coaching program will be refunded less a 10% cancellation fee (off the total service or program).
  • If a client continually delays completion of a program, beyond an additional 2 months, and then wants to cancel, no refund is payable.
  • Refunds will be processed within 3-5 business days of approval and be made via the original payment method.
  • Careers on Purpose will not provide a refund after all sessions/services are completed, or after the financial year of the invoice, unless the terms of the coaching program have been breached.

Termination of Services

  • Either party may terminate coaching services with written notice if there is a breach of the coaching agreement or if the coaching relationship is no longer meeting the stated expectations.
  • Careers on Purpose reserves the right to modify or terminate services and the client relationship at any time due to behaviour by the client including: dangerous or criminal behaviour, inappropriate or offensive behaviour, or irresponsible or disrespectful behaviour. We will notify the Client with the reason for termination/modification and notice effective immediately on the day of notification. In such situations, a refund for any remaining sessions or services, paid for but not completed, will be at the discretion of Careers on Purpose.
  • All care will be taken to resolve any issues which may occur within the terms of the coaching arrangement, any issues regarding service are to be raised with Careers on Purpose management first to be resolved.

Intellectual Property

  • All coaching materials, guides, and templates provided during coaching sessions are under copyright and are for personal use only.
  • They may not be reproduced or shared with any persons without explicit written consent from Melita Long at Careers on Purpose.

Professional Standards & Confidentiality

  • Melita Long of Careers on Purpose is a Professional Member of the Career Development Association of Australia, (ID #5878) having completed Postgraduate Study in Career Development and adhering to the Professional Membership requirements.
  • Careers on Purpose operates within the strict professional standards and membership requirements of the Career Development Association of Australia (CDAA) and the Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA). These include but are not limited to maintaining ethical standards, providing client-centric services and a duty of care, respecting equity and diversity, completing ongoing professional development, and representing CDAA in a professional manner.
  • All information shared in coaching sessions will be kept strictly confidential, ensuring a safe environment for the client and the coach.
  • Clients are within their rights to request copies of notes taken during the career coaching process.
  • If clients want to use as an AI recording device to take copies of notes, they must notify and request permission in advance.
  • Careers on Purpose may use AI note taking on Zoom calls to assist with keeping track of notes, these can be made available to clients.
  • Some Zoom sessions may be recorded by Careers on Purpose for the benefit of clients, with permission from clients, e.g. for Interview Practice, and these will be made available for clients' use.

Disclaimer

  • Careers on Purpose role as coach is to facilitate coaching clients towards his/her own choices of action.
  • Whether to make a particular choice or take a particular action is entirely the choice and responsibility of the client.
  • Careers on Purpose accepts no legal responsibility or liability for the actions, or outcomes of actions, a client may take after coaching.
  • Careers on Purpose cannot guarantee any new job, career or salary increase that the client may want to receive, given it has no control over external factors such as hiring managers, company changes, the job market, or the economy.
